Release Notes – OS 3.9
OS 3.9 adds Quick Quote for non-solar jobs, makes products faster to find and reorder in Shop, and adds prepaid lease and PPA payment options in the U.S. This release also includes live preview for Scroll proposal edits, Supplier Assist notifications, quote expiry and supplier preferences, and fixes across proposals, Shop, CashFlow, and permitting.
Quote non-solar jobs without a design

- Create simplified quotes for HVAC, roofing, electrical, maintenance, and other jobs that don’t need a solar design. Keep more of your pipeline in OpenSolar, present the work clearly, and collect payment from the same workflow. Set up CashFlow to access Quick Quote.

- Your Shop homepage now highlights products used in designs or purchased within the last 90 days. Clearer categories and an expanded promotions carousel also make it easier to browse products and supplier offers.

- Set the prepayment amount by percentage, $/W, or manual override for prepaid products using 48E tax credits. Use CashFlow milestones to collect payment, and show customers the Prepayment Amount, Lease Term, and Year Eligible for Full Ownership in the proposal.

- Make changes in the sidebar while keeping the proposal preview in view. Updates appear as you work, so you can check the result before saving.

🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 See Supplier Assist updates in Notifications – Chat and activity updates now appear in the global Notifications center and on Home, with links to the relevant quote or project. You can keep up with supplier responses and quote changes without opening each quote.
🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Check quote expiry from the Quotes list – A new Expiry column shows when approved quotes are due to expire. Quotes with one day left are highlighted, so you can place the order before the quote expires.
🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Put preferred suppliers first in Supplier Assist – Supplier options now follow the preference order you set in Control. Your highest-ranked available supplier is selected automatically when you start a new request.
Fixes
- MyEnergy checkout for change-order proposals – Fixed an issue that could block checkout when contract details were missing for an individual system. You can now complete MyEnergy checkout on change-order proposals again.
- Microinverter counts in separate retrofit proposals – Fixed an issue where the Scroll proposal included microinverters from both the existing and new systems. Your Solution now shows the count for the new system only.
- Cumulative Bill Savings chart consistency – Fixed an issue where online and PDF proposals could use different system lifetimes. The chart now matches across both formats.
- PPA rates in Swipe proposals – Updated Swipe Proposal > Go > Payment options to group PPA options separately. Solar, self-consumption, and export rates now appear as per-kWh labels instead of miscellaneous payment wording.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Supplier-specific Shop categories – Fixed an issue where the left-hand category menu showed all Shop categories on supplier pages. It now shows only the categories available from the selected supplier.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 “In Stock Elsewhere” message – Fixed an issue where this message could appear when stock was only available from a hidden or inaccessible supplier. It now appears only when another visible supplier or location has stock.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Shop filter dropdown styling – Fixed inconsistent dropdown styling in the left-hand filter panel. Dropdowns now match the style used across Shop.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Duplicate brands in Shop filters – Fixed an issue where the same brand could appear multiple times because suppliers used different naming formats. Shop filters now show one consistent brand name.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Product names in Supplier Assist BOM tables – Fixed an issue where the Product Name column could be compressed on smaller screens. Column widths now adjust to keep product names easier to read.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Quote status after Supplier Assist orders – Fixed an issue where the quote status did not update immediately after you or an Account Manager placed an order. Quotes now move to Ordered without a page refresh, preventing duplicate orders.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Share with Account Manager while pricing loads – Fixed an issue where Supplier Assist could open before BOM pricing finished loading. The button now shows a loading state and stays disabled until pricing is ready, preventing duplicate submissions and incomplete quotes.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Project address checks in proposal checkout – Fixed an issue where retrying a deposit on a project without a complete address could show a misleading payment error. Checkout now stops the deposit and tells you to add the missing address in Info.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Payments after a change order – Fixed an issue where the Payments tab could keep the original payment option after a completed change order. It now uses the latest accepted option, recalculates milestones to the new job price, and explains any overpayment from an earlier deposit without a page refresh.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Final payment milestone descriptions in PDF proposals – Fixed an issue where the last milestone description was missing from the PDF. All payment milestone descriptions now appear in both online and PDF proposals.
- 🇬🇧🇩🇪 Payment milestones with a 0% deposit – Fixed an issue where milestone breakdowns could disappear from proposals when the deposit was set to 0%. Milestones now show as configured, including splits such as 80%/20%.
- Generated permitting documents and request status – Fixed issues with system summaries, images, logos, and partner details in generated permitting PDFs. While a PDF is being created, View Request stays disabled and explains when the permitting partner will receive the document.
