Release Notes – OS 3.12
OS 3.12 makes it easier to manage projects from your phone and share interactive 3D proposals in India, brings CashFlow payments to Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand, and links Stripe payouts to projects and invoices. This release also includes proposal countersigning, Australian STC calculations up to 1 MW, and fixes across Shop and Design Studio.
Manage projects and share proposals from your phone
🇮🇳 Mobile Experience
- Work on your projects while you’re on site with easier navigation and access to key tools. Update customer details and project stages, search for tariffs, upload electricity bills, and share proposals through WhatsApp, all without needing your computer.
Share interactive 3D proposals with your customers
🇮🇳 Sales Machine Proposals
- When a project includes a 3D design, your customer can open an interactive roof view from the online proposal and explore the layout in more detail. They can rotate, zoom, compare options, and review sun-path shading and sunlight levels, all without an app or login. You can also turn the 3D view on or off for each project in Project > Proposal.
Collect payments at checkout in Canada, Ireland and New Zealand
🇨🇦🇮🇪🇳🇿 CashFlow
- You can now collect customer payments through OpenSolar’s mobile-friendly checkout, directly from your proposals. Add bank transfer details or your own payment instructions, and connect Stripe for card payments where available. Setup takes about 3 minutes.
See which projects make up your Stripe payouts
CashFlow
- Track which OpenSolar projects or standalone invoices contribute to each Stripe payout, including payment details and the amount received. Check actual payout dates or upcoming payment forecasts in All Payments, and open Stripe to review fees, refunds, adjustments, and bank account details.
Shop
🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Remove multiple items from your Shop cart at once – In Shop > Cart, select the line items you want to delete and choose Remove selected. Confirm your selection to remove those items in one action without clearing the rest of your cart.
🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Add all filtered projects to your cart at once – In Multi-Project Ordering, apply your filters and select all matching projects, even across multiple pages. Add them to your cart in one action instead of adding each project individually, saving time when preparing large orders.
Checkout
Countersign customer proposals with OpenSolar’s e-signer – You can now enable countersigning in your contract template and invite team members to sign the same document as your customer. Once both parties sign, you’ll receive a downloadable Certificate of Completion by email, with signer details, timestamps, and consent records for your audit trail.
🇮🇳 Early Access: Collect milestone payments with Razorpay in India – Give your customers more ways to pay through OpenSolar’s checkout, including UPI, credit or debit cards, and netbanking, depending on what’s available to your account. You can also offer bank transfer instructions. Contact your OpenSolar account manager or Support to activate Razorpay for early access.
🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧🇮🇳 Customize checkout and simplify proposal acceptance – OpenSolar Checkout now supports DocuSign and PandaDoc and uses your organization’s brand colors for a more consistent customer experience. Proposal summaries and payment details no longer appear in the sidebar, helping customers focus on your proposal before checkout. A clearer order confirmation also lets customers know when they’ve completed the process.
Design Studio
🇦🇺 Calculate STCs for commercial systems up to 1 MW in Australia – Eligible systems from 100 kW to 1 MW now use a fixed five-year deeming period for installation years from 2026 onward. Set your Installation year in Control > Other > Incentives, or override it for individual systems in Design.
🇮🇳 Generate single-line diagrams for solar projects in India – Create single-line diagrams (SLDs) using a new India-specific template with DCDB/ACDB labels, generation and net meters, earthing pits, lightning arresters, and references to IS, IEC, and CEA standards. Export your diagram as a PDF or convert it to DXF for editing in AutoCAD.
CashFlow
🇦🇺 Split customer payments for capped solar loans – Set a maximum loan amount for finance options such as NSW’s $15,000 interest-free loan, and automatically calculate what your customer needs to pay. Split the remaining balance across your usual deposit and payment milestones, with lender-paid amounts shown separately on the proposal and excluded from customer invoices.
Sales Machine Proposals
🇦🇺 Add NETCC disclosures to your Australian proposals – New proposal templates now include a dedicated disclosure section. You can choose whether to include disclosures in your contract, add NETCC Compliance conditions to your proposal, and see when there’s still information to fill in. Existing templates stay as they are.
Fixes
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Updated installation date entry in projects – In Project > Manage > Installation, you can now set a planned installation date without turning on Installed. This lets you record upcoming work without changing the installation status.
- Fixed errors from zero or negative payment milestones – CashFlow now automatically removes unpaid milestones that calculate to $0 or less, preventing errors in your project calculations. When needed, it adjusts the last unpaid milestone to keep the payment total correct and shows a warning explaining any changes to your payment schedule.
- Updated roof type labels to include Colorbond and Terracotta – In Project > Manage > Site Details and Project > Design > Mounting, you’ll now see Metal Tin / (Colorbond) and Tile Clay (Terracotta). These clearer names make it easier to identify the right roof type without changing how either option works.
- 🇺🇲 Updated the IronRidge mounting integration – OpenSolar now uses IronRidge’s latest integration version ahead of the retirement of its previous version.
- Improved component substitution for Clenergy BOMs – Clenergy now uses your supplier preferences to substitute components, helping you build complete BOMs from a single supplier.
- Improved component substitution for Renusol VS+ BOMs – Renusol VS+ now uses your supplier preferences to substitute components, helping you build complete BOMs from a single supplier.
- Updated installation job pack site maps to include safety zones – Default Installation Instructions now include site maps with annotations, anchor points, safety radii, and a legend. You can also add these details to custom document templates while keeping homeowner handover maps free of installation safety information.
- Fixed Auto Stringing errors and toggle behavior – Auto Stringing now works with configurations such as a 12 kW inverter and 4 kW of panels, showing a sizing warning instead of failing. You can also turn Auto Stringing on or off before adding an inverter to your design.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Fixed missing images in Shop recommendation carousels – The From Your Designs and From Your Past Purchases carousels on the Shop home page now show available product images instead of the “No image available” placeholder.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Fixed Supplier Assist quotes losing approval when changing ordering permissions – You can now turn Allow AM to Order on or off without changing the quote’s status, including after your account manager confirms the quote.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Added confirmation after submitting Supplier Assist quote requests – You can now see which account manager will review your quote and when to expect a notification. You can also view all quotes or return to your project or cart directly from the confirmation message.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Updated Supplier Assist Chat notifications to reduce repeat alerts – Messages sent about the same quote within 10 minutes now generate a single email notification instead of separate emails. You’ll also see only one unread in-app notification per quote until you mark it as read, reducing clutter in your activity feed.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Fixed Supplier Assist quote email links across organizations – When you’re working in a different organization, View Approved Quote now opens the quote in the correct organization without requiring you to switch manually. Approve Quote links also take you to the correct organization to approve the quote.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Improved visibility of Design changes in the Shop BOM – You’ll now see a warning in Project > Shop when your saved BOM no longer matches the latest Design. Select Sync from Design to review and confirm the changes, or continue with your current BOM.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Fixed blank Shop tab in projects – You can now view your BOM, Supplier Assist quotes, or order details in Project > Shop without encountering a blank page.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Fixed delivery address display and autofill in Shop checkout – The Delivery Address field now shows the full address you enter manually. Selecting a Google address suggestion also fills in the street, city, state, postcode, and country fields for delivery.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Fixed missing project labels in Shop > Cart – When a project has no address, you’ll now see its Project ID instead of a blank label, making it easier to identify each project’s BOM in your cart.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Updated Multi-Project Ordering to remember your filters – You can now refresh the page or navigate away and return without having to set up your filters and sort order again. Tags and Postcode filters also default to Is, while Install Date defaults to Is on or after, saving you a few clicks.
- 🇺🇲🇦🇺🇬🇧 Updated default filter selections in Multi-Project Ordering – When you add a Tags or Postcode filter, Is is now selected automatically. Install Date defaults to Is on or after, saving you an extra click when filtering projects.
